Kids shown what they are capable of

When Josh Norman heard about the rate of violent crime in Greenwood in 2012, he set a plan in motion. He wouldn’t be the guy who found success in the NFL then forgot about the people struggling back in his hometown.

“We’ve got to start something now,” Norman said. “That woke me up.”

His charity, Starz24, was born. Norman spent the first four years of his NFL career as a cornerback for the Carolina Panthers ? No. 24 printed across his chest amid black, blue and silver. He organized trips for Greenwood kids to come visit his practices and spend time with him. When Norman signed with the Redskins in April, he decided to keep the tradition going, hosting two busloads of kids from the Lakelands and chaperones for a trip to Richmond from Aug. 8-9…
