Greenwood, SC: It was a beautiful day in Greenwood and could not have been more perfect for the return of the STARZ24 Fun Day after a year of hiatus due to COVID-19. The event took place at Brewer Field near the STARZ24 Teen Center Campus and did not disappoint! Greenwood enjoyed a day full of family fun and activities hosted by the STARZ24 Foundation and NFL Philanthropist Josh Norman.
Activities included horseback riding, a mechanical bull, dunk tank, slides, a climbing wall, carousel, rides, bounce houses and prizes.
Guests enjoyed a variety of treats from fried Oreos, funnel cakes, cotton candy, candy apples and more. The day was a great success and fun had by all.
“We all come out here and try to bridge the gap and build something of unity and community,” Norman said. “When you have that and people are willing to get together and do stuff like we are now, anything can change.”
“I’ve been returning year after year doing this,” Norman added. “It’s a new feel year after year that we get to do this. Nobody is making anybody do anything. We get to wake up in the morning and do these things and do community events. Even today…in my scripture it talked about neighbors a lot…in this neighborhood we all got to ban together as one. For us, you go off and don’t forget where you came from.”
